Waller Mill is a City of Williamsburg park of 2705 acres with a 360-acre lake, which is also the water reservoir for the City of Williamsburg. The lake is beautifully situated and amazingly secluded for its location. The lake is gorgeous, and the shoreline is surrounded by woodland. If you have not been there before, you may want to explore the very nice walking trail through the woods before or after kayaking. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
It is summer so bring bug spray, suntan lotion, appropriate clothing and water. Park does require everyone to wear a Coast Guard approved flotation vest; there is no swimming; and pets are not allowed on the water. After a fun morning, bring a packed lunch and join fellow kayakers for a nice picnic along the lake. For further information about the park you can call their number 757-259-3778 and go to their web site: https://www.williamsburgva.gov/675/Waller-Mill-Park
Please RSVP Alice Cooke at alice@alicecooke.com if you plan to attend or have any questions.
In the event of unfavorable weather, an email notice will be sent cancelling/rescheduling the trip. Look forward to seeing you on the water.
