Sail Beyond Cancer (SBC)

Commodore Emeritus Chris Munson, SBC Fleet Captain and Board member, believes the Mission of SBC aligns with the spirit and values of the KYC as we are a community that understands the healing power of the water and camaraderie of a day on the Bay.

"Sail Beyond Cancer". The Mission is to honor those being challenged by cancer by harnessing the healing powers of wind, water and sail, and is put into action by providing meaningful experiences of relief from the challenges of living with cancer, for nominated patients and their loved ones.  Sail Beyond Cancer provides a free private 3-hour sail on the York River, aboard the 41' Beneteau sloop Solace. 

The private individual sailing excursions create opportunities to rebuild courage and make lasting memories.
