We are going on the Leisure Paddle trip. Rotary Park at Pocahontas Island, 149 Rolfe St, Petersburg Va. NO LATER THAN 830 AM. Details are provided during registration. Completion around 1:30pm start promptly at 8:30am
This stretch of the Appomattox is wooded and tidal, and the event is timed to ride the outgoing tide, so it won't be a endurance contest. The trip is 10 miles, but with a 3 foot tide fall, its more like 5 miles. But best to be in paddling shape and have a good boat.
KAYAK Reservation: During registration you can rent a kayak $20.
Club members and guests would carpool to the shuttle location in Petersburg. Shuttle service will bring people back to their cars. This is a well staffed, safe event, with plenty of supervision and escort. And, lunch is provided!
